Supported Formats
Formats and file types Ferrumium currently supports.
Ferrumium works with Satisfactory save files, blueprints, and images. This page lists every format the platform accepts and the limits that apply to each.
Save files
Upload your Satisfactory save as a .sav file (binary format). The maximum upload size is 100 MB.
Only saves from Update 8 and later are accepted. The minimum required version is save version 41. If you upload a save from before Update 8, the server will reject it.
When you upload a save, Ferrumium extracts the following metadata automatically:
- Session name
- Play duration
- Save date
- Build version
- Game phase
- Creative mode flag
- Modded flag
Published saves support gallery images and versioning, so you can update a save over time without losing the original.
Blueprints
Blueprints use two file types:
| File | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
.sbp | Yes | Satisfactory blueprint binary. Contains the actual blueprint data. |
.sbpcfg | No | Blueprint configuration. Holds the description and icon reference. |
The maximum combined upload size for both files is 50 MB. If you include a .sbpcfg, its base filename must match the .sbp file (for example, MyFactory.sbp and MyFactory.sbpcfg).
After upload, Ferrumium analyzes the blueprint and extracts:
- Building counts
- Dimensions in foundation units
- Cost breakdown (items needed to place the blueprint)
Published blueprints support preview images and versioning.
Images
Save gallery images
You can attach up to 6 images to a published save. Accepted formats:
PNG,JPEG,WebP,GIF- Max 10 MB per image
User avatars
Upload a profile picture in PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP format. The limit is 5 MB, and the image is resized to 512x512 on the server.
Factory preview snapshots
When you publish a factory, a preview snapshot is generated automatically in WebP format. You do not need to upload these yourself.
Planner data
Factories you create in the planner are stored on the server. There is no manual file import or export step for normal use.
Copy and paste within the planner uses an internal clipboard format that stays in your browser session.
Browser-side preferences like belt tier, grid snap distance, and autosave interval are stored in your browser's local storage. When you are logged in, these preferences are also synced to your account and persist across devices.
